Let’s face it: summer has ended, and we are officially transitioning into fall. This is the time when days become shorter and colder, and we are ready to make our home even cozier and warmer for ourselves. Here is a great tool: by picking your perfect fall scents, you’ll enjoy spending even more spending more time at home. To help you with this task, we have already made our list of the best fall scents for 2023.

But let’s start with the basics: what are the most common fragrances for fall?

A classic fall scent of pumpkin with notes of spicy masala chai. This is a very cozy scent that is not too sweet. You’ll like its balance of pumpkin and other flavors, perfect for fall mornings.

This scent combines pomegranate, mandarin orange, pine, cloves, and cinnamon with vanilla and amber notes. It’s warm and cozy, great for your kitchen or living room. Good for both fall and winter.

Hearth (NEST New York), $20

Intense fall scent of wood with hints of smoke. It creates the aroma of a crackling fireplace which makes it feel cozy. This scent is very comforting during the late fall. If you have an electric fireplace, place it nearby.

Moroccan Amber (NEST New York), $20

Nice and warm amber scent for fall with notes of bergamot. It is complex, but not overpowering. Might be best for a living room or entryway.

Simmered Cider (Thymes), $20

This scent is a blend of apples with notes of clove and cardamom. A sweet and spicy fragrance that is not too strong. Perfect for the transition into fall.

Perfect fall scent that is a blend of plum and cinnamon mixed with wood notes. It’s warm and cozy and also good as a transitional scent to go from summer to fall. This scent is a mix of warm and fruity with the intensity is more medium to high.

Chestnut Embers (Capri Blue), $19

This warm scent is a blend of chestnut with musk and orange. It’s very relaxing and cozy, while also being quite nostalgic. Perfect for late colder fall.

SoHo (Capri Blue), $19

It’s definitely a strong scent of amber, sandalwood, and musk that is great for cold fall evenings in October or November.  It gives a warm cozy feeling to your space. However, this one is not for everyone as it’s really robust and also earthy.

Red Currant (Votivo), $20

This scent is a mix of rhubarb with cassis and musk. It’s elegant, quite intense but not overwhelming. The scent is not too fruity but quite sweet.

Grapefruit Bloom (Floral Street), $20

This scent is a blend of grapefruit and pomegranate with crisp amber and warm musk.  Here you can smell the grapefruit and musk. It’s sweet and subtle, fresh clean scent. It’s a great combination of fruity and floral. Can be a good choice for both fall and spring.

This scented candle by the eco-friendly brand Brooklyn Candle Studio is a mix of orange blossom, cassis, leather, and sage. It has a subtle smell but is inviting and cozy.

This candle features a blend of fig, sandalwood, amber, and red currant. The scent is woodsy but not intense, being a perfect for late summer and transition into fall.

Cafe FJ: Pumpkin Spice Latte, $35

This candle smells like a pumpkin-spiced latte, being a great choice for fall. This fragrance is a mix of pumpkin, cinnamon, and vanilla, so it’s quite sweet and cozy. This candle comes in a mug that you can use after the wax burns down.

This candle by the British brand True Grace combines scents of ginger, lemongrass, and orange. Warm and sweet scent with citrus and spiced notes. However, some people might find the lemongrass smell quite intense.
