Temperature control
One of such features is temperature control. With embedded, imperceptible water channels used, the temperature of the pod is dynamically adjusted which is especially useful in the summertime to cool down at night. The external Hub connects to tubes embedded into the cover and is controlled by the app. The temperature can be changed 55 to 115 degrees Fahrenheit.
The Eight Sleep app has also a smart temperature mode to automatically adjust the temperature of a mattress throughout the nighttime.
There is also temperature regulation individually for each side of the bed. This means a partner can choose to have their part of the pod cooler or warmer than your.
Smart alarm
Another useful app is the Eight Sleep alarm that helps wake you up by gradually cooling down the mattress. It also vibrates at chest level to wake you up naturally, without the sound of an alarm. You set the wake-up time and the temperature the mattress needs to cool down to.

Pod Pro Mattress Construction
The Eight Sleep Pod consists of five technology layers containing sensors and a layer of imperceptible water-based cooling and heating channels. In between there are adaptive foams.
The cover material is polyester and cotton fabric blend.
The top 2-inch comfort layer is made of polyfoam, and the second 2-inch comfort layer is made of memory foam. The polyfoam is a little responsive, creating some bounce on the surface with light conforming, while the memory foam offers additional contouring. A 2-inch transitional layer of dense polyfoam sits beneath the memory foam to prevent you from sinking too deeply into the mattress. The Pod’s support core is composed of 5 inches of high-density polyfoam.

How do I set up and install the Pod?
You will receive two boxes: 30 ml (2 tablespoons) of hydrogen peroxide and about 2L of distilled water (if possible). Both can be found at your local convenience store or market. To set everything up, you need to download the app which will guide you through each step of the onboarding process. To use the Pod, you’ll need to have WiFi connected.
How to wash the Pod?
There are two part of the mattress to take care of separately:
Technology portion that is not water-resistant and it cannot be washed or dry cleaned. So it should be covered with a waterproof mattress protector.
Foam portion can be cleaned with mild detergent, such as dishwashing liquid soap. Do not use harsh chemicals such as bleach or ammonia.
Eight Sleep Warranty
The company offers 10-year warranty for the mattress and 2-year warrant for a sleep-tracking cover. Defects under this warranty include physical flaws in the mattress,body impressions in the surface, and defects associated with the cover assembly and technology.
