Ultrahuman Ring review: My honest feedback

Imagine having a sleek, unobtrusive device that not only tracks your health metrics but also motivates you to achieve your fitness goals. The Ultrahuman Ring Air promises to do just that, blending cutting-edge technology with elegant design to deliver an all-in-one solution for health enthusiasts. This smart ring has rapidly gained popularity and at some point, I’ve begun to see it all over the Internet.

First, I thought that it was too expensive and why do I need it if I still have my Apple Watch. But then, in a couple of months, my partner and I have these rings. So, why did we decide to buy the rings and does it live up to the hype?

Let’s break down everything in this Ultrahuman Ring review.

This is Ultrahuman Ring AIR, Raw Titanium, Size 9.

What is an Ultrahuman Ring

The Ultrahuman Ring is a smart ring that tracks metabolic health, sleep, and fitness through continuous glucose monitoring and other biometric sensors. You wear it 24/7 and you can see the insights on your health metrics in the app. It works similar to a smart watch but provides more data.

Here are some of the main data points:

  • Recovery Score – Measures overall readiness based on heart rate variability (HRV) and resting heart rate (RHR).
  • Sleep Tracking – Monitors sleep stages, duration, and quality.
  • Movement Index – Tracks activity levels, steps, and calorie burn.
  • Heart Rate Variability (HRV) – Indicates stress and recovery status.
  • Resting Heart Rate (RHR) – Helps assess fitness and recovery trends.
  • Body Temperature Variability – Detects fluctuations that may indicate stress, illness, or recovery needs.

The ring looks like a piece of jewelry but it’s a bit chunky and from time to time it has a green light on the inner side. For the first days it can be hard to wear it all the time if you haven’t used to it (it was my case) but then it’s very easy to wear and you start to better understand your health condition.

Features of the Ultrahuman Ring Air

I’ll start with its main features and then highlight the ones I find the most useful for myself.

  • 24/7 health tracking and historical data. This smart ring monitors HRV, RHR, sleep, movement, and body temperature variability and sends it the app. It provides a several scores likea Recovery Score based on biometrics like HRV and sleep or Stress Rhysms Score that shows how well you deal with stress. It also shows you sleep stages and efficiency and breaks down the daily activity levels. You can see how your day went today in terms of your conditions and can see a longer perspective.
  • Sleek design and easiness to wear. The ring is made from titanium with a smooth, durable finish. It looks good and you easily can wear it for the whole day and night. People that still haven’t heard about this gadget will think it’s just a regular ring. The ring is suitable for workouts and daily wear, while also being water-resistant. So, you can take it with you into the pool or wear it during intense sessions without worrying about damage.
  • No subscription needed. Unlike its main competitor, Oura Ring, you pay one time for the ring without any subscription that goes on top. You just the ring and get a lifetime access to all the data, which makes this ring a more financially sustainable option.
  • Long-lasting battery. You can wear the ring for up to 6 days on a single charge. Then, you need about an hour to charge it fully. You can change it using a special USB that connects to your laptop.

And here are the features personally I like the most.

  • Sleep tracking. I like to see how good my sleep is and how it changes depending on my life events or choices. I like to check my sleep duration and how long my deep sleep was (as it is probably the main phase for recovery). Also, it’s easier for me to sleep with the ring n my finger than with the watch on my wrist.
  • Stress tracking. I’m quite an anxious person who also stresses a lot about her job. That’s why I really like to see how my work reflects my stress levels (and I find it quite accurate in terms of how intense my days were and how I felt during that time).
  • Ring design and battery-life. I really like the design of the ring, it looks very modern and sleek. Also, it’s easy for me to combine it with my outfit and other jewelry. Meanwhile, I like that you can wear it for a long time without thinking about its charging, which is the case with Apple Watch.

For example, here are my stress insights from Sunday (we mostly spent this day with my partner walking around London). And you can see here that my working days had lower scores (meaning I had more stress).

Pros and cons of Ultrahuman Ring

Let’s briefly check the pros and cons of Ultrahuman Ring.

Pros:

  • A lot of health-related metrics tracked
  • Sleek and modern design
  • No subscription needed
  • Long-lasting battery

Cons:

  • The ring is quite expensive
  • The ring is prone to scratches.

Ultrahuman Ring size and a finger to wear it on

It’s an essential step to buy a ring you can comfortably wear for a long time. My best advice is to go to a store and try different sizes on. Meanwhile, there’s a separate app, Ultrahuman Ring Sizer to help you with this task. When I tried it at the store, I chose size 9 for my index finger. The app shows your optimal size of the ring and middle finger (I got size 7 as a recommendation).

So, I went with the size 9: it’s perfect for my index finger but it’s too wide for my middle finger. I could have chosen size 8, but I wanted a slightly looser fit, so I opted for a larger size. While it’s not as tight and can be easily taken off, I can do everything, including cardio training with it.

Also, keep in mind that it’s recommended to wear it on your index finger to get the most accurate results. The next best choice is the middle finger (but personally I find it more comfortable to wear it on my index finger). It’s not recommended to wear it on your thumb (while I really like this look).

Ultrahuman Ring colors

As of February 2025, there are five colors to choose from – Raw Titanium, Space Silver, Aster Black, Matte Grey, and Bionic Gold. It should be enough for different tastes and style choices.

I opted for Raw Titanium and my partner chose Matte Grey. I had this choice because I really like its look, all my jewelry is silver, and I decided that this one wouldn’t be so prone to scratches. However, I was deciding between this and Space Silver but chose this because of the durability (just my perspective). My partner has never had any rings and he opted for Matte Grey so that it doesn’t look like a regular ring.

Battery life of the Ultrahuman Ring Air

The Ultrahuman Ring Air boasts an impressive battery life, lasting several days on a single charge. This extended battery performance is a major advantage for users who don’t want to worry about frequent charging. You can wear it for days on end, continuously tracking your health metrics without interruption.

There are some modes which uses ring battery much faster, like workout tracking (this is currently in beta).
